How much space is required?
We are a flexible group and understand that space can be limited at wedding venues. As a general guideline, we can fit into an area that is 4m wide and 3m deep. Of course, more space is always preferable. Rest assured, as a wedding brass band, we have performed in various venues, from alpine log cabins to castles, adapting to any situation.
How much do you charge?
Please get in touch today for a bespoke quote. Band hire cost depends on a number of factors including location, timings, dates and special requests. As a very rough guide, our fees range from £1200 – £2000.
Can you reduce the number of musicians?
Unfortunately, we do not reduce our numbers. Our sound has been perfected through extensive rehearsals and recordings, and removing an instrument significantly affects the overall performance. We aim to deliver the full Dizzy Brasscals effect, complete with powerful horn lines and dynamic bass.
Can we choose the songs you play?
While we generally curate our own sets based on experience, we are open to accommodating your preferences. If there are specific favorites or songs you’d like included, or ones you’d prefer we avoid, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to tailor our performance to your liking.
Can you perform our first dance?
Certainly! Our evening wedding package includes the option to learn and play your first dance. To ensure a flawless performance, we need to know the song choice two months in advance for rehearsal and arrangement. Alternatively, we can play your chosen song through our high-quality PA system and seamlessly transition into our first set.
What equipment do you provide?
We are fully self-contained! Our standard equipment for evening wedding bookings includes a high-spec PA system, microphones, and a mixing desk, eliminating any concerns on your part. Our speakers boast 2500 watts of power, suitable for weddings with up to 250 guests.
Can we use your microphone for speeches?
Typically, borrowing our microphone for speeches is possible. However, keep in mind that the microphone is only functional when the PA system is set up. If you plan to use it, ensure that it coincides with the band’s on-site presence. For earlier access to the PA system, inquire about an early arrival time, acknowledging potential additional costs for arrivals before 5/6 pm.
When do you set up?
For evening wedding bookings, the band typically arrives between 5-6 pm, coinciding with the wedding breakfast. The setup, lasting approximately an hour, can be done discreetly to avoid interrupting your meal or speeches.
How long is your performance?
As a standard, we perform two sets, each lasting 50 minutes, with a 30-minute break in between. To keep the party atmosphere alive, we provide a playlist service during breaks. Additionally, we offer a post-performance DJ service, a popular option that eliminates the need for a separate DJ/PA system and offers better value.
What other parts of the day can you perform for?
Dizzy Brasscals, with extensive experience as a wedding brass band, can enhance any part of your day with a special appearance. Examples include providing entertainment during the drinks reception as a roaming brass band, a pop-up/flashmob appearance during the ceremony, leading guests from the ceremony to the reception, and full-on evening shows with our high-spec PA, including DJ services.
